FIRE nightclub

The initial appeal hearing against the Licensing Committee decision to turn down FIRE’s application to expand into adjacent arches took place on 04 August. Instead of setting a date for a full appeal hearing, the magistrate, based on FIRE’s offer to cap the current capacity of the club at 1435, referred the case back to the Licensing Committee for a ‘re-hearing’.
The likely date for the re-hearing will be Tuesday 20 October. Licensing will be writing to everyone who made representations beforehand to give them the opportunity to amend their representations, should they wish to do so. If they don’t, their original representations will still count. As it is a ‘re-hearing’, new representations objecting to FIRE’s plans may not be submitted. Those who did make representations may speak at the re-hearing to voice their continued opposition to the modified FIRE application.
