Viva Vauxhall

Thanks to all of you who came to the AGM – around 50 in all – as well as to Kate Hoey and our two ward councillors, Andrew Sawdon and Rob Banks who also attended.

One reason for the big turnout was undoubtedly the interest generated by our two guest speakers: Rob Heasman from Catesby, the regeneration company that has purchased the old Christie site and James Ross from Controlled Parking Zones/Lambeth Council who is undertaking a parking review of our local streets.  Both kindly stayed behind after the formal part of the meeting to take on board and discuss the concerns of local residents.  More about those two topics in future posts.

Your new committee is now in place.  Instead of electing a Chair, we decided to have a ‘rolling Chair’ at committee meetings; Danny Walsh was reelected as Secretary, as was Jorge Ferreira as Treasurer.  April Hilling, Ben Haines, James Fraser, Kate Pode, Margaret Norris, Robert Harwood and Pete Morris were reelected as ordinary committee members – and they are now joined by two new members: Brad Hale and Val Speechley.
