Watch out! Burglars about!

There was an attempted burglary during the daytime last Wednesday 12 November in Pippins Court in Vauxhall Grove.
The police confirm that there has been a spate of burglaries in surrounding streets in last the few weeks and that between now and Xmas we can expect more of the same. Same thing last year when several properties around here were broken into.
Please be security-conscious; don’t leave doors or windows unlocked, and ring the police if you see anyone acting suspiciously. Better safe than sorry.
UPDATE ON 27 NOVEMBER
The deli was broken into last night! If anyone saw or heard anything unusual or noticed anyone behaving suspiciously, please let the guys in the shop know and take it from there.

Thanks for the warning Danny. It would be helpful if, as a community, we saw some regular police presence. I personally can’t remember the last time I saw a police officer in Vauxhall Grove or Bonnington Square. We only see the SWAT team or 15 cars turning up for something or other now and again and then they’re gone!
Please press this point to the police. By the way, who is our local Community Policing Team… do they actually exist or is it just another Government con?

I think it’s really important that neighbours really do keep an eye out for each other and know who their neighbour is. This area is quite liberal and open to anyone so it is quite difficult to know who and what looks suspicious. As I have been burgled several times in the past I am quite worried about this issue in the community.
